March 2009 - Military Medic to Paramedic Bridge Course starting 11 May 09 at the National EMS Academy in Lafayette, LA (www.nationalemsacademy.com ).  Designed specifically for the Army Combat Medic (68W), Air Force Independent Duty Medical Technician (4N0X1C), and the Navy Independent Duty Corpsman (IDC), the 12 intense week course will  include didactic, clinical, and test prep sessions, culminating in testing during the last week.  For more details, contact Laura Duplantis at 866-459-3500 or [email protected] .
 
February 2009 - U.S. Army Reality TV Show is casting for Flight Medics in 2009 - The U.S. Army's Office of New Media Concepts is casting for a reality TV show that will focus on rewarding and challenging opportunities available through the U.S. Army.  The episodes will air on network/cable television and be translated into five-minute webisodes for use on GoArmy.com and other websites.  The first episode will feature ex-Army medics who are working as aeromedical crew members (flight nurse, paramedic, etc.) in the civilian world.  It will be a great opportunity for someone in the field to speak about their career to a nation-wide TV audience.  The reality show will be produced by the actor/director Ricky Schroder (NYPD Blue, etc.) and each episode will feature one or two Army alums who now work in the civilian sector.  Former Army medics working in the aeromedical industry are encouraged to participate and should contact Major Gregory Galligan at phone # 703-597-5369 or via email at [email protected] before March 15, 2009.
