IAFP History

Founded in 1986, the National Flight Paramedic Association, currently known as, the International Association of Flight Paramedics, is the largest independent paramedic association in the world.  Our focus is the professional paramedic and our purpose is to serve as advocates to the profession on an international basis.

IAFP members are involved in transporting critical care patients by airplane, helicopter, and ground ambulance.  In the past, most of the members were flight paramedics, but as we continue to evolve we welcome and encourage paramedics involved in all aspects of critical care transport.  We also have associate memberships for anyone with an interest in the paramedic profession.
